A Popular Church From Bavaria - St. Lorenz Church

During my wonderful trip to Nuremberg which is the second largest city from the beautiful state of Bavaria, I came across this historical church “St. Lorenz” which was built during the medieval period. The architecture of this magnificent church was designed in Gothic style with a total height of approximately, 80 meters. The historic Evangelical church is located at the center of the beautiful old town of Nuremberg city and is easily visible as we walk down the Karolinenstrabe street. There was an information board near the entrance of the church which explain about the history of the church. Based on that information, the church is devoted to “Saint Lawrence”.

The history says that, this church was heavily damaged during the world war II and was later refurbished to improve its infrastructure. The nave (~10.4 m) of this church was laid in 1400 and the construction work was completed by 1477. The beautiful Gothic spires were large and the delicate design of the church was just astonishing.

The front of the church is extremely beautiful with the a stunning door frame. The nearby surrounding areas are full of stores, restaurants and the nearest metro station is very close to this place. Unfortunately, I did not go inside the church as I was busy with work commitments. This is a must visit place for people who appreciates Gothic styled architecture.

Hi @fasi6083 ,

Thanks for the nice and descriptive post!

I like a lot buildings in a Gothic style. They are very impressive and have a lot of history behind them. I would like to visit it if I am there.

Do you like to discover churches and cathedrals in Gothic style?

Thanks for the comment @PoliMC I love ancient structures especially the ancient houses made of muds, the tall cathedrals built during the medieval period. It’s such a fascinating feeling to observe the beautiful minute details covered in an artistic way by the ancient architects in these historical places.

By the way when are you planning to visit the Christmas market?
