I have found, while surfing google maps, that an unofficial person has claimed one of UNESCO’s world heritage site as his own business. He is showing fake useless products there, posting useless photos and also wrote a useless description. I don’t know how google maps allowed him to own a heritage site. The place has 20k reviews and with the place’s name search, maps takes me there so it doesn’t seem that it is a duplicate of original place. How can i report him so people can get correct information about this heritage site?
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I’ve tagged a Google Moderator to have a look into this ( @Giu_DiB ). In future, for any critical issues, you can do the same and tag a Google Moderator for their attention. Could you also please let us know the link to the site on Maps so that the Local Guides team can investigate?
Here are some screenshots from my mobile phone. I don’t see everything i highlighted from my pc on maps website. The photos are slightly edited by me. You may check them yourself on maps (try using a phone ).
I will tag google moderator from next time. In one photo, he is giving his bank account and ifsc and in other he posted picture of some people and wrote “best” in hindi as caption.
Thanks very much @Bhavana1 . And you are right that on mobile, it’s easier to see all the incorrect information! I have flagged the contents where I could and perhaps @Giu_DiB can take a look to about the ownership issue.
If you come across any content on maps that is incorrect you can tap the “three dots” and click on Report a Problem. You can then indicate what’s wrong with it. Thanks again!
Yes, I knew about these but i thought there will be a fast action and i could explain the problem better and also i could get better guidance so i told here.
Hello @Bhavana1 Ji, Thank you for reporting this issue. Even I saw this and was about to write it as well. Try reporting the whole profile. I hope they’ll take necessary action.
@AnshukMitra I can open the whole profile by just clicking on the profile picture. Can you tell how to open? I reported the product, description and photos as Off-Topic.
@MortenCopenhagen No, I can still be seen. Try opening in mobile instead of maps website.
