Visiting Sabarmati Ashram was a deeply calming and meaningful experience. Situated on the banks of the Sabarmati River, this historic place reflects simplicity, discipline, and the powerful legacy of Mahatma Gandhi.
Walking through Hriday Kunj, Gandhiji’s residence, gives a glimpse into his minimal way of life and strong principles of truth, non-violence, and self-reliance. The surrounding museum beautifully preserves photographs, letters, and artifacts that narrate India’s freedom struggle in a very engaging way.
The ashram campus is clean, well-maintained, and peaceful, perfect for quiet reflection. Entry is free, and the information boards make it easy for visitors to understand the historical significance without needing a guide. Sitting near the River, one can truly feel the calm that once inspired great movements like the Dandi March.
If you are visiting Ahmedabad, Sabarmati Ashram is a must-visit place, not just as a tourist spot, but as a space to reconnect with values that still matter today.
