Indeed we all have different reasons and goals for being Maps Local Guides and I do appreciate that for many the motivation is simply the gamification inherent in the program.

IMO @AdamGT, Photo A has the most views as it captures the required details of the shop despite the obstacles on the left side. Storefront photo as the name sounds, it should be from the front capturing the finer details of the shop. This helps the viewers to learn about that shop much more than what is there in Photo B while being more clearer (almost without obstacles).

If on foot, I always take the outside photo straight on, unless there isn’t room to do so.
If taking the photo while driving slowly thru the area, I again take the photo straight on using a camera with a 24-105 lens.

Mine are all done with my phone, Yaryman. The angle I take while driving through an area depends on where I am in the line if stopped at traffic lights for example.
