A glimpse to Phnom Penh city (I)

Now I missed visiting this lovely Capital @Sophia_Cambodia … went here back in 2013 and that is way too long indeed! I do miss strolling around the streets in Phnom Penh

Thank you dear @Imperiospice hope you spare sometimes to read my other posts too :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh, how nice @indahnuria you were here for work or just visiting?

I was not really in Phnom Penh full time between 2013-2019 - always traveled and worked in different parts of Cambodia.

Of course, your questions are noted @CAAG1959 sorry for replying you late. I will write them in my new posts. Please stay tuned.

Yes, you read right - the tragedy in 1970s, left over 3millions people died in the killing field - well there are two killing fields in or nearby Phnom Penh city. People were forced to leave their houses and only some could return back.

Of course my dear @SoniaK , good advices for sure. I had posted about Cambodian wedding at countryside but yes, I can write one more about the wedding in Phnom Penh which is a bit different from that of the countryside.

A bit of both… working on ASEAN issues as well as human rights @Sophia_Cambodia . It was a lovely visit indeed and I got an extra day to explore the city. Happy to be back if I can…

I see, that is great but it was long ago @indahnuria there are so much changes from there. I myself wasn’t always in town so I can not really follow the trace of its fast development.

@Sophia_Cambodia nice photos

This is superlicious @Sophia_Cambodia . This is what I was asking for. The rituals and traditions. I wanted to know particularly about the wedding because typically we all try to portray and carry the culture on the wedding, irrespective of the country. No matter how modern or influenced by other nations they are, people always hold onto their traditions on their weddings. Loved that wedding dress and the food pictures. Ok, I need to attend a wedding in Cambodia, that’s final. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hai @Sophia_Cambodia .

Thank you for sharing the multi facet of Pnomp Penh City.

I can see all of the photos.

It is so refreshing, there so many open air in the city.

@SoniaK likewise, I would also love to join the wedding of other culture just because I love diversity, the dress, the food, the decoration. My German and American friends joined Indian wedding and I was like; okay girls the next time you join such events, tag me along. I would be very happy.

Yes, of course if without Covid-19 I might celebrate my own wedding here and wouldn’t mind to invite you to join us. There are so much going on, to dress up, to take photos, to enjoy the food and the reception and meeting people dressing in different colors.

I will give you a shout if that happen!

How I miss joining the wedding party, it has not been around for two years and people just do small rituals at home quietly during this time.

Thank you very much for all beautiful comments @BudiFXW

There are 3 rivers meeting each other here in front of the royal palace, namely Mekong, Bassac and Tonle Sap :slightly_smiling_face:
