A Garden Full of Books with a Scientific and Cultural Atmosphere

Hi all,

I was thinking to write a post about this amazing place but the post by dear @DeniGu for US National Book Lover’s Day forced me to do this sooner!

This is the Tehran Book Garden. It is placed in one tourism area of the city of Tehran, Iran, and in the neighborhood of the National Library of Iran. Its name represents it completely. This place is a huge modern green building that is exclusively based on books, studies, and science.

It contains a big store for general books, handicrafts, and stationaries and a special child and teen book and toy store. It also contains some separate parts so kids and teens can get familiar with science, called “Kids Science Garden” and “Teenage Science Garden”. Moreover, there are several places for play and joy for children like buying.

Like all buildings are building these years, it is a totally accessibility-friendly place and indeed it is a good place for all. It has also a food court and lots of restaurants and cafes plus vendor machines to get drinks and snacks.

Besides these nice things, it has also a working space for startups and freelancers. And sure there is a cinema complex and a performance theater there with an art gallery.

Other nice things that attract people here are its several sculptures of our nostalgic characters from animations and stories. Some from Iranian ones and some from global ones like Pinocchio, Sindbad, Alibaba, and Zoro.

One nice thing that I love about this place is that it is full of colors that bring a good feeling to you. Although I should note that since last year, the rainbow-color things also remind us of Kian, who was also full of passion for science but bad humans didn’t even let him live.

This place brings a good opportunity for those who want to learn, find, and lost in good things, specially Generation Z. Just consider how all these amazing things came together about science, culture, and art in a unique building: the Tehran Book Garden.

Because of this, this place is a perfect choice for groups such as friends and families to spend time and so, many times it is full of people who love to know more.

In this topic, I shared very few parts of this big place by some of the photos I’ve taken these recent years. To see more photos and videos you can check it on the map.

Dear @Amiran

It’s truly inspiring to read about the Tehran Book Garden, a remarkable hub of knowledge, creativity, and inclusivity. The fusion of literature, science, and play within its modern green structure makes it a beacon of learning for all ages. The thoughtful inclusion of separate sections for kids and teenagers to explore science is commendable. The colorful ambiance, the food court, and the memory of Kian all add layers of depth to the experience. Your description paints a vivid picture of a space that fosters curiosity. Thank you for sharing for this incredible place!

Thanks @Dancinthrupain

Yes, Although Google Bussiness (and other global billing-needed services) isn’t available in Iran, Google Maps is available, and many of us are contributing as volunteers to updating the map since its first years.

What a beautiful place it is! Really it looks very calm and quiet, nice atmosphere everything including its interior also good. An international standard library is a too good brother. Thanks, @Amiran for sharing this beautiful place with us.

Thank you @FaridTDF

Yes, It has special sections for that and services such as audiobooks for blind people or subtitles for movies in its cinema for deaf persons. But this is not applicable to its website and I think it is good to inform them based on your note to make their website rich by such services. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
