Hello fellow Local Guides! I kicked off my New Year on January 1st with a trip to one of my favourite spots in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Science City. If you’re planning a visit soon, here’s a breakdown of how to make the most of your time and money.
Pro Tip: The “Combo Ticket” Strategy
I highly recommend booking in advance online. Here is how the pricing works as of early 2026:
• The ₹349/- Combo: This covers Main Entry + Aquatics + (Robotics OR Astronomy). I chose Robotics this time!
• The ₹499/- Combo: This is the best value if you have a full day, as it includes both Robotics and Astronomy.
• Note: These combos are usually for weekdays and exclude public holidays, so check the calendar before you book!
Nature Park: Mammoths & Dino Eggs
I started my day at the Nature Park. It’s a massive green space, but the highlight for me was the prehistoric section.
• The Statues: I got some great clicks with the massive Mammoth and the Earth Statue.
• Funny Moment: I found a spot where you can actually sit inside a giant dinosaur egg with a baby Dino—it’s a hilarious photo op that you shouldn’t skip!
Aquatic Gallery: Penguins in Ahmedabad!
The Aquatic Gallery is world-class. Seeing the African Penguins for the first time with my own eyes was a surreal experience. The gallery is huge, featuring everything from local freshwater fish to exotic species from across the globe. The underwater tunnel makes you feel like you’re walking on the ocean floor.
Robotics Gallery: Where Future Meets Reality
This was the tech highlight of my trip. I saw:
• Real-world drone use cases.
• Incredible humanoid models and existing industrial robots.
• Interactive displays that show how AI is changing our daily lives.
Summary for Local Guides:
• Best for: Families, solo travelers, and tech enthusiasts.
• Accessibility: Most galleries are very accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.
• Food: There is a “Robo Cafe” where robots serve you—it’s worth checking out for the experience!
Have any of you visited the new Astronomy and Space Science gallery yet? I’m planning to swap Robotics for that on my next visit. Let me know in the comments!
