So I begun my Google map journey as a local guide was during my undergrad study in 2014. I was still figuring how exactly the reviews worked 
and so when the map notification suggested doing reviews of restaurants and their foods, I went around the town to try out restaurants and their menus. I tried food from 7 restaurants that day and was very full! This was a big step for me because I was in a new environment and mostly stayed on my campus. Going out afforded me a chance to explore the town the university was located at and try great spots. Turns out I met interesting people who were also local guides from my campus as well.
