A Fairytale Journey: My Experience at the Sazova Castle in Eskişehir
One of the most iconic landmarks in Eskişehir is undoubtedly the Sazova Science, Culture and Art Park’s Fairytale Castle. As someone visiting the city for the first time, seeing this magnificent structure felt like stepping into a storybook. With its architecture reminiscent of Walt Disney animations, it enchants both children and adults alike.
The exterior of the castle is truly impressive. However, once inside, I found it a bit underwhelming. Aside from a few statues, there wasn’t much that captured my attention. The short train ride inside the castle could have been more engaging with added animations or visual effects to enrich the magical experience.
Climbing to the top of the castle offers a stunning view of the city. However, I did notice some maintenance issues—cracks in the columns and exposed metal parts that somewhat diminished the visual appeal. Hopefully, more care will be taken to preserve such a unique structure.
Visitor Tip:
For a more peaceful experience, I recommend visiting on a weekday and early in the morning. The place can get very crowded on weekends, making it hard to fully enjoy especially the interior areas of the castle.
All in all, the Sazova Castle is still well worth a visit. If you find yourself in Eskişehir, make sure to stop by this magical spot. Some places are remembered not only for how they look but for how they make you feel.
