Hello, Local Guides!
Who doesn’t love to get to know and enjoy the beauty of the sea and its inhabitants? Gujarat has the longest coastline in India, and its seas are home to a diverse range of marine species. The Marine National Park offers a unique experience of encountering marine life without snorkeling or scuba diving.
However, discovering the same aquatic species in a city aquarium is a lot of pleasure.
Today I’m going to tell you about my visit to the Aquatic Gallery in Ahmedabad’s Science City. Not only is it the first aquarium in Gujarat**,** but it is also the largest aquarium in India. The aquatic gallery exhibit covers over 15,000 square meters and features 68 tanks with fresh water, brackish water, and seawater.

The aquarium here has a wide variety of tanks dedicated to aquatic species around the world, including the main tank featuring sharks and a unique walkway tunnel that offers a unique experience like never before. It’s incredible to see more than 188 kinds of amphibians, penguins, and 11,600 fish under one roof. Here, visitors can see thousands of fish up close and peek into the mysterious underwater world!

Touchpad screens are placed across the museum to allow visitors to pick a species and learn more about it. There are numerous popular exhibit locations in the Aquatic Gallery, such as the Indian Zone, Asian Zone, African Zone, and American Zone. One of my favorites is the “American Zone,” where you can walk with sharks and other junk on the ocean floor. It is an exciting adventure.
