Hello Local Guides!
During my recent adventure in Cox’s Bazar, I took a day trip that turned out to be one of the most peaceful and enriching experiences, visiting the Boro Rakhain Para Buddhist Temple in Maheshkhali Island.**
My Journey:
I started from Dolphin Mor, Cox’s Bazar and took an auto-rickshaw to Jetty Ghat No. 6. The entry fee to the jetty was only 20 BDT. From there, I boarded a speedboat and enjoyed a breezy ride to Maheshkhali, it took just 20 to 25 minutes. The round-trip fare was quite reasonable at 260 BDT.
Exploring Maheshkhali:
Upon arriving at the jetty, I hired a rickshaw for a mini-tour of the island. One of the highlights of the trip was definitely the Boro Rakhain Para Buddhist Temple. Located in a peaceful Rakhine neighborhood, this temple is not just a place of worship but a living piece of local culture and spiritual heritage.
The golden Buddha statue, the calm ambiance, and the warm hospitality of the locals made it a memorable visit. It’s a perfect spot for anyone looking to explore beyond the beaches of Cox’s Bazar.
Travel Tips:
- Speedboats are frequent and safe.
- Local rickshaw drivers often offer full tour packages for a fair price.
- Best to visit in the morning for a relaxed experience.
- Don’t forget to carry water and wear comfortable shoes!
