A Day in Magical world of Books - New Delhi World Book Fair

Books and doors are the same thing. You open them, and you go through into another world." – Jeanette Winterson

About New Delhi World Book Fair

The New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF), being held for the past 51 years, is a major calendar event in the publishing world. NDWBF 2025 was scheduled to happen between 1st to 9th February 2025 in newly constructed Halls 2-6 (Ground Floor) at the Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The Fair was organized by National Book Trust, India (under the Ministry of Education, Government of India). ITPO (under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce) is the co-organiser/venue partner of the fair.

My Visit to the World Book Fair – February 9th, 2025

I had the chance to attend the World Book Fair on February 9th, the last day of the event. Even though it was the final day, the excitement in the air was palpable. The atmosphere was lively, with book lovers, authors, publishers, and bibliophiles from all walks of life coming together to celebrate the written word.

As I entered the fair, I was immediately struck by the sheer scale of the event. The halls were brimming with rows and rows of books, ranging from classic literature to the latest bestsellers, niche genres, and even interactive books for children. I found myself overwhelmed by the vastness of it all, but it was the kind of overwhelm I cherished.

One of the highlights for me was visiting the various booths of independent publishers. They had unique collections that you wouldn’t typically find in mainstream bookstores, which felt like a treasure hunt for a book lover. I spent quite a bit of time flipping through collections of poetry, graphic novels, and fiction, all of which seemed to have a story to tell beyond their covers.
