A clock on the world historical monument of Charminar at Hyderabad, Telangana, IndiaHel

Hello LGs,

I am a big fan of the posts on the Clock Towers by @TusharSuradkar , and I was wondering if I had overlooked these remarkable structures or if I had just not noticed any of them in my photo collections.

But I had it and never paid any attention to it until I ultimately found a couple of them in the mementos from my trip to Hyderabad. These clocks, which are located atop Hyderabad’s Charminar, are also historical landmarks. Indeed, there are “clocks” fixed in the arched windows on each of its four sides. That took me entirely by surprise because I had no idea, and it’s rare to have clocks on all four sides of the structure.

Here are a few photos of it:

Photo 01: From the car park near the Charminar.

Photo 02: A close-up of the clock on the Charminar.

Photo 03: If you notice carefully, these clocks are on all four sides.

This clock was brought to India by one of the Nizams of Hyderabad, Mr. Ehboob Ali Khan. They are almost 150 years old. One of the local clock shops is maintaining it.

Then, there was another famous clock tower in the Chowmahalla Palace, which is very close to Charminar. I had covered that in my earlier post on this Palace.

So, this is a bonus for those who love and follow Tushar’s series of posts on the clock towers.

I hope you like it.

Cheers!

Natürlich und sehr schön erzählt und gut zu sehen, für mich ist nur traurig, dass ich die gezeigten Bilder nicht vergrößern kann, aufgrund der Formate

My sincere apologies, @Annaelisa for that. Since it was captured from far away and from the bottom, it may not be that clearly visible at your end.
