A brief PhotoWalk - The ‘Himalayan Salt Lamps’ and its Health Benefits - TravellerG

Hi Dear LG Friends,

The ‘Himalayan Salt Lamps’ are decorative electric lights and attractive showpieces for any home. The Salt Lamp surely initiates a conversation among guests because of its uniqueness; It adds beauty and a soothing glow to any room. The benefits of these lamps go beyond their aesthetics.

They are carved out of Pink Himalayan natural salt and given a nascent shape and a hollow space to accommodate the electric bulb inside. They are quite heavy and fragile. Of course, the bulb is replaceable. The salt is placed on a wooden piece for stable seating.

Himalayan salt lamps help clean the indoor air through natural ionisation. When the Himalayan salt is heated by its bulb, the salt emits ‘negative ions’. Allergens like pollen, dust, smoke and dander are particles in the air that have a ‘positive charge’ - and when negative and positive ions combine, the pollutants are neutralised and they drop to the floor, providing a cleaner air to breathe. Thus the Himalayan Salt Lamp helps to reduce symptoms of allergies and asthma, etc. providing stronger bronchial health.

Along with the soothing light and negative ions, the lamp can help in boosting your mood and reducing stress. For the same reasons, one can enjoy a quicker and deeper sleep, with the lights on. Adding some soft music to the environment, you can enjoy excellent relaxation too. I have read that some of the health benefits are not fully scientifically proven.

The lamp in the photo is about 9 inches tall and costs INR 1,200 (Aprox. USD 15) only; it has a 1.5-metre electric wire to supply power to the bulb.

How are you?

Nice and valuable info.

Apart from the benefits you have listed, it can help to ward off negative energy coming into your house (from envious or people with bad thoughts).

There is one store in Bangalore for buying genuine this salt lamps.

Thank you for the details, @TravellerG . I keep one in both of my kids’ rooms and one in my office. The lamp on my desk also lightly warms a scented candle that sits next to it, so I also get a slight scent of jasmine from the heated wax without having to put smoke into the room.

Beautiful post @TravellerG , I really love to get one, but Still didn’t get chance to visit Khewra City in Punjab province, where we have salt mine , and in where we can find these decorative Salt lights in affordable price, because in Karachi, it’s so much costly, but in Khewra, because of Salt mine, it’s not too much.

@TravellerG @TusharSuradkar @AjitThite @Anil6969 @PrasadVR did you heard about the world’s second largest salt mine Khewra Salt Mine in Punjab province of Pakistan?
