A band composed of people with disabilities - my experiences

Tonight I participated in a photo competition with a picture of me that was considered among the top 20 pictures. True, I did not win the first places but I was privileged to see a rare performance of a unique band in Israel. The name of the band is SHALVA, which means ‘tranquility’ and is made entirely of people with disabilities.

The singers suffer from blindness and other members of the band suffer from retardation or other problem. Some of the songs were Israeli and some in English, one song also included Hindi words but in the video you can see one of the band members

expressing the lyrics in sign language so that everyone can sing together, even those who do not hear the song like everyone else.

The words are “I see in you something good, something close, something I can love”, and indeed we love them very much.https://youtu.be/3J8DyEhjVpg
