1. The meaning Taj Mahal is “Crown of the Palace”). This ivory-white marble monument (south bank of the Yamuna rive).
2. Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan dedicated it in 1632 to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
3. This 42-acre complex includes a mosque and a guest house and the beautiful gardens
4. The Chief Architect was Court architect to the emperor, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri.
5. The Taj Mahal attracts more than 10 million visitors a year.

The foot fall on Weekends goes above 70,000 many times, where as week days see approximately 40,000 to 50,000.

For sure, our “Top Tourist Attraction” is Taj Mahal - No doubt…

Unfortunately, there is a news that Government is going to limit the visitors’ duration to 3 Hours per day!
