1. Miss Perkins is one of my favorite places for desserts in Barcelona. It’s run by an English Woman who speaks perfect Spanish. The place is super cosy and warm and calm, you really don’t want to leave. It’s a perfect place for a morning coffee with no hectic or crowds of people on a busy street.
All the cakes and cookies and salads etc. are homemade. Juices are freshly squeezed for you. The selection of teas is amazing and you can mix whatever teas you want.
It can get quite busy at times and then the waiting times are a bit long because there is usually one (miss Perkins) or two people working.
It’s not downtown but if you love desserts like I do, it’s totally worth a visit!

2. Le Sucre Coeur is/was an amazing places with spectacular desserts by Maria Selyanina. The actual café is closed but I believe they’re opening another place in Les Corts, Barcelona soon (according to their Instagram post).
For now you can still order those heart-attack-desserts at Maria Selyanina’s International Pastry School to go or get them delivered to your place.
I do hope they’ll open their actual spot in the city so it’s easily accessible.

Note: there is a bit of a confusion with their names because they have quite a few accounts on Facebook and Instagram.
3. La Pastisseria is another gem in Barcelona. Their desserts are so beautiful you can’t decide which one to get. This is simply perfection and you wish you could just have those cakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. ?
The place is on a busy street and I wouldn’t describe it as cosy. But hey, who cares!?
Pay attention to their opening hours which aren’t the greatest. Sometimes I wonder how on earth you can run a business with those opening hours in the 21st century!

4. Bristol Café is a small place not far from Sagrada Familia. And the name doesn’t have anything to do with the city in the UK. To find out what it’s all about you’ll have t visit that one. ?
They offer desserts as well as regular food. The selection is quite wide and the carbs they have are just beyond heaven. They also have quite a large selection of teas or you could get a coffee.
I’m pretty sure the guy who owns the place works there, that’s why they do care about their clients. It’s a mix of locals with tourists. It’s very small, so you won’t get too much intimacy.

5. Bubó is one of the icons in Barcelona and has special desserts to offer. While their customer service leaves much to be desired, you can’t argue excellence of their products.
They used to have a place at Bulevard Rosa which (unfortunately) shut down and it was a lot better than the one near Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar.
Anyways, they have great pastries and special “turrons” during Christmas time. Check it out!

6. Escribà is a fantastic place for a sweet tooth. It’s a whole religion for carbs lovers. There aren’t words that could possibly describe a state of euphoria you might get into while devouring those inexplicably beautiful and delicious creations.
None of the places on this list is cheap but this might be the most expensive.

7. Pastisseria Takashi Ochiai is a fusion pastry café with a hint of Japanese flavors. The cakes and croissants are lush! As they aren’t fully “western” kind of cakes/pastry, it’s a place that definitely differs from the others on the list.
Try it for yourself.

Is that all Barcelona has to offer? Of course not! But these ones are definitely gems of Barcelona. I’m sure exploring more and more places in Barcelona and other cities/countries and will definitely create other lists.
If you know some other amazing places, please do share in comments! Much appreciated in advance.
