7-11 Japanese Heat Packs (Hokaron) ホカロン

Hokaron are warm packs that can be placed under clothing for temporary relief from the cold. Heat is produced via a chemical reaction and can be activated by squeezing before use. After it gets warm, it’s ready to go! The heat should last for a few hours. Best of all, you can purchase a pack of 30 for under 1,000 yen or $6 USD, hokaron is reasonably priced. They can usually be found at 7-11!

These were selling very well at the bus stop on Mt Fuji @TonyAlexander plenty of people were buying them up. Having just come from an Australian winter I wandered around in shorts and t-shirt and thought it was warm lol.

@PaulPavlinovich I still wander around malls here in shorts and Polos and the locals look at me like I am crazy. I’m warm-hearted I suppose. Wait until February gets here and for sure I will bundle up with these heat packs, though.
