Located in the historic town of Barkur, Udupi district, Karnataka, the Sri Ekanatheshwari Temple is one of the most revered shrines dedicated to Goddess Ekanatheshwari, an incarnation of Goddess Parvati. The temple holds deep cultural and spiritual significance, as Barkur was once a flourishing capital of the Alupa dynasty, known for its heritage and cluster of ancient temples.
The temple architecture reflects traditional coastal Karnataka style, with beautifully carved wooden structures and a serene temple tank adding to its charm. Devotees strongly believe that Goddess Ekanatheshwari safeguards the town and blesses her devotees with health, prosperity, and wellbeing.
Apart from the main deity, the temple also houses shrines dedicated to Lord Mahaganapathi, Subramanya, Naga Devatas, and Veerabhadra, making the premises spiritually rich and diverse.
Devotees are offered Anna Prasada (meals) daily in the temple dinning hall.
