Hey folks! We are approaching the last day of Ramadan with Eid just around the corner!! I’ve been working on this little video with @KashifMisidia and, finally, I’ve been able to publish it. In this video, I invited Kashif to help me answer 5 questions about Ramadan!
The questions are:
- What is Ramadan?
- What is a daily routine for someone observing Ramadan?
- What is a top local place to visit during Ramadan?
- What happens at the end of Ramadan?
- How do you show support to someone observing Ramadan??
Yes, they are rather simple questions but I thought it would give a good overview of what Ramadan is all about especially for those who have heard of it or may have heard of it but don’t really know much about it.
The Ramadan market that Kashif mentioned in the video is located along Tariq Road. You can watch this video that gives you a better view of what the area is like although it’s not filmed during Ramadan. As usual, I wanted this to be a short and simple video (like around 5 minutes) but I ended up talking too much and the video is longer!
Nonetheless, I do hope that you will enjoy it and find it informative!
If you observe Ramadan and are getting ready for Eid, I would be super grateful if you could share some of your own thoughts/comments about your experience. Post some photos of what Eid celebrations are like, or share photos of the food that you’re making in the comments below! And if you have suggestions for upcoming festivals, customs and events from all over the world that I should explore, do let me know! Who knows… I might be interviewing you for a future video!
And lastly, huge thanks to Kashif for taking time out of his busy life to help me out in this video!!

Thanks @Sarbland for your kind words and great to know that you’ve enjoyed the post and video!
@Nyainurjanah That is true; during the day, a lot of places were quiet!! But the problem I had was that in the evenings around the time of iftar (breaking of fast) everywhere was super busy and full! There were many times when I couldn’t find a place to eat!

Thanks for your kind words of support @RHoqueBD . I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the content
Thanks @GasparKaren . I hope to make a series of videos exploring different cultures and celebrations too. I just need to manage my time better and plan things out so that I have enough time to do the research, the interview and to edit the videso! My month of May and June is going to be pretty busy though but I’m always keen to know if there’s any festival/event that I should cover!

@Gmappers Oooh, what’s Eid Salah? There’s a lot of new words that I’m not familiar with and I’m still learning from everyone. For instance, most places would say “Eid Mubarak” but in Malaysia, we say “Selamat Hari Raya”. And you say “Eid Ul Fitr”, we say “Aidilfitri”.
Thanks @NareshDarji for your kind words!
