360 PANOs and Connect

Hello, everyone.

I am so very glad I discovered that wonderful platform ou all share - intuitive interface, lots of options to express yourself and CONNECT with others - photo, video, HTML

Since I have a passion for those 360 panoramas I was a bit surprised to find out there’s no option to directly upload/preview 360s, thus I wanted to ask the other 360 lovers here for advises and recommendations about featuring 360 photos in Connect.

I got most of my PANOs uploaded in Street View and I guess I shold embed them in a post when I need to, but still if you have an advise to give, just please do, will be well appreciated.

Greetings.

@tukzamalko you can add 360 photos to Google Photos and then add the link to your Connect post.

Hi @tukzamalko

The possibility to use I-frame in Local Guides Connect was given, in the past, only to Street View Trusted Photographers.

Due to the misuse of I-frame, this possibility was removed years ago, and actually only Moderator are allowed to use it.

But of course you can add a link to your 360 in Google Maps, like you already did.

Nice photo, with minor stitching errors.

Do you use your mobile with the Street View App?

Hello @tukzamalko ,

As @ErmesT already told you, you canass the link to your panoramas in your posts on Connect, like you did here. I wanted to inform you that I am marking his answer as a solution, in order to help other members who might have the same question. To know more, you can read this article: How do I mark comments as solutions?

@ErmesT Can you expand on the “misuse” of i-frames. Couldn’t the site take away the priviliges of the offenders rather than eliminate this once great feature?

There was several discussion going on on the street view board a couple of years ago, @dbateser , about misuse and safety issues.

I am not sharing links here because not accessible for most of the local guides, but you can search in there
