3 Tips travelling around Singapore

3 Tips travelling in Singapore that wont hurt your pocket (too much) but allowing you to experience it fully!

The first is to always take public transport.
The focus here is the reliability and speed that offers you convenience in this expensive city. Saving on this means, you enjoy on more aspects we have to offer here. At the same time, almost all areas are interconnected via buses and trains. It is clean, affordable and time-tracked. There are various apps on Play store or just use Maps. Simple and it also tells you the time when each mode of transport you take will reach that stop.

2nd Tip to look out for is, ‘Hawker centres’

Food is always on everyone’s mind, at any time of the day or even night. Variations of Hawker Centre cultures have gone into malls now and locals eat it equally the same. Price varies from one to another, despite similar menu. The tip here is to eat many great choices available here. Unlike cafes and restaurants, you sit and eat the choices available there, in a hawker setting, you sit and eat the many different types, with some cooked by chefs as well.
Best tip: Just google or use maps. It really is that simple.

Last tip to note about traveling here is, Contingency.

Weather in Singapore is unpredictable. It could be sunny and fun for hours and suddenly rain for 10minutes. So bring a foldable umbrella yeah. Wear light to walk around but bring a bag for your sweater/ windbreaker as it could suddenly cold at times. Buying those items could also be an option but save that $ for attractions around SG so you can totally enjoy your stay here.

So yeah, thats about all for the 3 tips we can share on this post. There will be more in the future, hopefully.

Or just follow us on Maps.

Should you have comments or queries, feel free to email too yeah? ristendie@gmail.com

A note to add. If you are straight from the airport with luggages, avoid using the tips above. Use the cab/taxi to ease your affairs. Once you have offloaded your main luggages at the hotel, you are most welcomed to use the tips.

interesting tips @Piqued_wanderer and I totally agree. I have also done it many times in Singapore. Public transportation in Singapore is very good, connected, and also cheap. Both by MRT and bus. I have never tried regular taxis, but I have tried Uber (a long time ago), and Grab. It seems that there is also Gojek now. About luggage, if we don’t stay overnight, we can leave it at the airport at a relatively affordable rate too.

Yes yes… Great additional info! Available at any of the Terminal transit areas especially for those long layovers. Will be covering this in abit more detail, in the future.
