Taipei, a city with one of the highest densities of convenience stores on the planet, is such a convenient place to live. In the city, convenience stores are everywhere, take my place for example, there’re six stores near my apartment, all within 5-mins walking distance.
When people choose which convenience store to go to, we usually pick the closest one as 99.9% of convenience stores are identical, serving the same services, the same products, with the same price. Yet, very few stores do stand out and make an attraction with unique themes which you could never find elsewhere. Today, in this article, I’m sharing 3 special themed convienence stores you’ll only find in Taipei.
With its pinky exterior and the huge Hello Kitty figure, it’s a can’t miss place for all Sanrio fans. Though my friends and I are not ones, the cutie, brighty, lovely kitty still immediately caught our eyes.
My friends and I spotted this themed store accidentally while visiting a dessert shop nearby. Sincerely speaking, I wasn’t quite familiar with these characters, yet, they’re undoubtedly top stars among elementary school kids.
Unlike the above two cartoon characters’ themed stores, this one is a brand themed one. With a bright interior and Leon lights, this store has the vibes of an American-style sporty bar.
Such a cool post, @ChanneLing - it’s pretty cool to see these convenience stores absolutely themed, and not in the slightest, either. I think the 7-Elevens here in the US could learn a thing or two from their Taiwanese counterparts .
I think the Lays-themed store is the most interesting to me knowing that they’re an American brand and seeing how they really did bring that out in that design and style.
I have a few coworkers in Taipei, I’ll have to ask them if they’ve happened to visit any of these!
Thank you for the comment! Glad to see that you enjoyed reading my post.
Yes, it’s cool to see these convenient stores themed with big IPs or brands. I know for big brands, there are also Coca-cola, Heineken, and even Maserati (yes, the luxury car brand!) themed stores in Taipei. And for big IPs, they have Disney, Snoopy, Pokemon, and more! I haven’t got the chance to visit them all due to the pandemic but will definitely do when having the chance!
