Shri Vinayaka Temple at Guddattu is one of the most ancient and unique temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha in coastal Karnataka. Nestled amidst rocky hills and lush greenery, this temple is believed to be over 800 years old and is closely associated with the Vijayanagara period. The deity here is worshipped in the form of Jaladhivasa Vinayaka, as the idol is perpetually surrounded by water.
According to local lore, the idol of Lord Ganesha at Guddattu emerged naturally from the rock (Swayambhu). What makes it extraordinary is the presence of a natural water spring that continuously flows around the idol. Devotees believe this symbolizes Lord Vinayaka’s eternal presence and blessings, protecting devotees from obstacles and hardships
