Here in Nepal, this day (Buddha Jayanti) is celebrated with all Nepal public holidays remembering their birth, the day of enlightenment and his body’s departure from this planet. This is like a well-planned and super coincident to happen, sometimes I feel like how is this possible for such an exact match?
As I was born and brought up near a famous Buddha stupa and am influenced by the Buddhist community a lot though I am Hindu. Here we have a unique religious tolerance between Hindus and Buddhists, I have been observing this blend for 38 years.
Lord Buddha is a signal for peace and balance, the teachings are more precious that help one to light a light inside them. The famous quote in Sanskrit “असतो मा साद गमय, तमसो मा ज्योतिर् गमय, मृत्योर मा अमृतम् गमय” meaning “Lead us from ignorance to truth, Lead us from darkness to light, Lead us from death to deathlessness.”
