First of all Happy New Year to my Fellow Local guides, Connect Moderators and Google Moderators.
Just like last few years, I wanted to share a post on my journey as a Local Guide in 2023.

Just like last year, purpose of this post: I really get inspired and motivated by achievement and other posts on connect. Hope this post inspires and motivates some of you on contributing to Google Maps and Connect.

Here is the details on 2023 Contributions on Google Maps. Table has also has data from 2021 & 2022.
Unlike last year major contribution to maps is through adding roads. Thanks to TRAC team & @SholaIB for inspiring many of us to participate in the road adding challenges. Answers have taken second place and third place goes to photos. There is a new category Captions, contributed 226 to that category.
So far contributions have 2.3 Billion views, Photos have 2.08 Billion Views (out of which Videos have 35+ Million views, thanks to @AdamGT hard work on T100 boards, based on the board, I am leading the video views so far! among registered users) , Places Added have 168.5Million Views based on October 30th 2023 data, Reviews have close to 3.5 Million Views.
I have also contributed to Road mapper, for a total of 304 kms so far.Participated in two out of three connect challenges and was able to secure the Connect Challenge Winner badge.Here are the screen shots of various posts I created on connect during 2023. A total of 40 posts in 2023. Thanks to Google moderators @DeniGu @Ority @Kristen_NYC for periodically featuring these posts on connect!
Also in 2023 made a several trips with family, which also helped me to contribute more to maps through, Photos, Reviews and Videos.
One of the trips was to India in Feb 2023, Even though I am originally from India, this was my first trip to Taj Mahal. Here is a shot of Taj Mahal captured during sunrise during that trip.
Next trip was to New York City, my daughter moved to New York City in April 2023 for work. We visited her in June 2023. Here is a lucky shot on Edge New York, weather gods cooperated with some spectacular clouds.
The next trip was to Banff, in Alberta, Canada. This is just a spectacular place, once must definetely visit in their life time. I have already written several posts on connect about my trips.
In October my wife and I visited Italy (Amalfi Coast) and Switzerland celebrating our 30th Anniversary this year. More posts to come on connect. Here is cover of one of the posts Piz Gloria 007 experience.
Finally on New Years eve, we visited Yosemite. Here is a shot of the valley from Tunnel View point, which is a popular location of visitors and photographers.
