National War Memorial is the symbol of patriotism and sacrifices. It was constructed by the Government of India in order to pay homage to its soldiers. The project was executed at Rs. 176 Crores and inaugurated by respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 25 February’2019. The names, rank and regiment of around 26000 martyrs are carved in gold on granite bricks. It is located in the heart of New Delhi in vicinity of India Gate.
The museum is spread over 40 acres and the main structure is divided into four chakras namely Rakshak Chakra, Tyag Chakra, Veerta Chakra and Amar Chakra. The central part of the main structure lies at a lower level in comparison to its surrounding having an obelisk and an eternal flame. Also at the Param Yoddha Sthal, you can find the statues of 21 National Heroes who had received the Param Vir Chakra Award.
The Museum is open for the public. You should visit within the prescribed timings as there is no entry fee. This is a nice place to bring your family and Children.
