Hello everyone!
I’ve been meaning to write about this place for a while! I was lucky enough to discover it a few months ago when my family and I spent a few days in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
We had tickets to Hershey Park, but we wanted to spend the night in the area so we could explore not only the amusement park but also the surrounding region, including the Amish Country (it covers several townships but the most important is Lancaster, the epicenter of the Amish community), which is very close by. I love driving , so I try to take advantage of any opportunity to hit the road.
I was specifically looking for places that weren’t chain hotels, wanting to try something new and appreciate the difference. Among all the options I saw, one truly intrigued me: 1825 Inn Bed & Breakfast. It wasn’t exactly cheap—I’d say it was moderately priced—but it had such stellar reviews (4.9 stars out of 315 reviews on Google Maps) that we decided to try our luck. Believe me, it exceeded all my and my family’s expectations!
The inn is located in a beautiful area of Hershey, I would say around 3 or 4 miles away from the park. It’s an old but perfectly maintained 19th century farmhouse, run by a wonderful married couple. You can feel and see the good taste in every square meter of the place, where you find a thousand vintage details that, for a Local Guide like me
, are simply irresistible
. Often in this type of accommodation, you receive more personalized treatment, and we more or less expected something like that, but the warmth and attention to detail we received truly surprised us.
I remember that one night, my daughters stayed in their room watching a movie , and we went downstairs to have coffee
and chat on the house’s terrace. It was a bit chilly, but oddly enough, next to the armchairs were some decorative wooden boxes with beautiful blankets inside. The scene of that moment—the two of us sipping coffee
, talking, with our blankets warming us—felt very special
. And I think that’s what 1825 Inn Bed & Breakfast is all about: giving you the warmth of home, surrounded by details and good taste.
Likewise, the souvenirs were all prettier than the last, from home decorations to paintings. We finally ended up with a beautiful yellow mug with the silhouette of the house engraved on it. I’m literally drinking coffee from that mug right now, because for me, those are the best souvenirs to take home: beautiful memories and things I can use every day!
I’ve added some photos in this post that I hope you like; they don’t quite do justice to how beautiful the place is, but hey, something’s something, right?
