18 Years of Memories

In the early 2000s, the first mall of Kolkata, the Forum Courtyard Mall, was inaugurated. Before that, people here didn’t know what a mall actually is, but it was just a multi-storeyed shop, and a few other malls also opened after this, but they were also not completely fitting in the definition of a mall.

But something changed in 2008; following the new trend of the malls, the South City Projects (Kolkata) Ltd built a new mall named the South City Mall. The architect of this mall was Dulal Mukherjee. It was inaugurated on 16 January 2008. This mall has made history not only in Kolkata but also as the biggest mall in the entire state, West Bengal.

I have visited this mall many times. Recently when I visited here, I found these attractions that were installed within the complex area. It was mentioned ‘18 Years of Memories’, which denotes that the mall that made history has successfully completed 18 years happily.

I have taken and uploaded some photos to the updates section of the POI of this mall. I will give a review soon.

In fact, a photo that I had uploaded last year of the mall got 103,101 views. I have also given some answers about South City Mall on Google Maps, and I hope that will help people.

Important information about this mall:

Accessibility :wheelchair_symbol:: Yes
Timings: 11:00 AM - 10:30 PM
Parking: Paid & Free street parking available.
