Tainan is one of my favorite cities in Taiwan, and I visit here 2-3 times a year.
It’s a city of delicious food including food from traditional markets and some special snacks.
My friends and I visited Tainan last weekend, lets me show you how much food we had in 24 hours!!
First stop, SANJIN NOODLE
Its located in Yamuliao Market, I think it’s a little bit hard to get because there are so many venders around.
But it’s really worth to try! All the noodles are made by the owner and they are the pro of making noodles!
SANJIN NOODLE is a vegetarian restaurant. Though all of us aren’t vegetarian, we really enjoy the food here!!
//
Second stop, Klin Taiwan boazi
Boazi is one of Taiwanese traditional snacks, you can choose any stuffing you like, any kind of vegetables and meet.
We ordered traditional pork favor and basil dough with cheese favor.
I prefer the basil dough with cheese favor boazi, however my friend think the traditional pork favor is more special due to there is an egg yolk inside.
//
Third stop, PaPa you Beh Teung Guai (Taiwan Street Curros)
This is made of glutinous rice flour and white sugar, a kind of traditional snacks in Taiwan.
//
Forth stop, Fèng shānghào (pineapple drinks)
I love this pineapple drinks so much, and every time I visit Tainan, I would come here to get a pineapple drink!
//
Fifth stop, Tuk Tuk Cha Cha Thai Tea
Three of us have been to Thailand more than twice, and we enjoy Thai mike tea very much!
//
Sixth stop, Jyu Siang Tang Plum Juice
It’s good to have cool herbal tea in the hot weather.
//
Seventh stop,Fu Sheng Hao wa gui (savory rice pudding)
Wa gui is the local term for savory rice pudding, served and made in a bowl mixed with duck egg yolk, shiitake, pork, and shrimp.
//
Eighth stop, Yeh’s squid rice noodles
//
Ninth stop, A song Gua bao (Taiwanese hamburger)
It is a class Taiwanese burger, with pork belly served in a steamed bun.
//
Tenth stop, Ai-Wei bistro
Schweinshaxe is awesome!!!
We have no idea about why this bistro can make this cuisine sooo well!!!
//
Eleven stop, Feeling Lu wei
You can pick your ingredients (vegetables, noodles, tofu…) which the chefs will help braise in their special soup
//
Twelfth stop, A-Tang beef soup
This is also the last stop of our day one in Tainan.
//
Thirteenth stop, wa gui in traditional market
Yes, we had wa gui again!!
But this one doesn’t have a name, and this is the local food.
Few of the tourists know this wa gui.
//
Fourteenth stop, Milkfish soup
Milkfish is a popular ingredient in Tainan.
They pan-fried milkfish with a squeeze of lemon as well as soup with milkfish balls.
//
Fifteenth stop, OH*!*café
This café opened on July 2019.
I love the Japanese style decoration here.
But I have to say, the coffee is too bland.
Doesn’t like a professional café.
And one of the staff had bad attitude.
He was impatient when others asked him questions.
I won’t recommend this café!!
//
Sixteenth stop, A-yu beef hot pot
The most famous beef hot pot in Tainan.
//
Seventeenth,Django**café
Due to we had bad coffee and worse experience at OH!café,
We decided to have another one!
Django café has nice coffee, and friendly staffs!
This is the place where deserve many people to have coffee!
Django café is also the end of our trip in Tainan,
We have been to 17 restaurants in 24 hours.
Was it crazy? I don’t think so!
I will visit more next time, and find more new cuisines which I haven’t had before!
Tainan, see you next time!!
