Hello Local Guides!
This post marks the beginning of my “10 Years Impactful Series,” where I share stories about supporting small businesses in my community. I believe that each small act of kindness or feedback can help a business grow, and I’d like to start by introducing you to a hidden gem, Taishoken Ramen.
I discovered this cozy ramen shop while browsing for ramen places around me on Maps. What caught my attention was their unique dish - a tomato cheese ramen! That’s something I have never seen in any ramen place around and was eager to try it. My husband @zac555 and I decided to visit.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly owner and the polite staff. The owner shared his story with us. He had taken over the shop just before the pandemic hit and had also faced issues with fire a few months ago. Business was slow, and he was putting in long hours every day, hoping to make improvements bit by bit. It was clear how passionate he was about the place, and he genuinely wanted to make it the best he could. He shared that he wants each customer to leave the place happily and satisfied, he also shared that people hesitate to provide feedback, which makes it difficult to know what needs to be improved.
As Local Guides, we know how important it is to leave constructive feedback. After tasting the ramen and chatting with the owner, we decided to help out by leaving a review, adding some photos, and sharing our feedback on Maps. Small things like these can have a significant impact.
The next time we visited Taishoken Ramen, the owner recognized us right away and expressed his heartfelt gratitude. He thanked us for taking the time to leave the review, share our photos, and provide feedback. It turned out that after our review went live, the shop saw a few new faces coming in, curious to try the ramen after seeing the pictures and reading our review. It was such a small effort on our part, but the positive results were clear.
As a Local Guide, it feels incredibly rewarding to know that you’ve contributed, even in a small way, to helping a business grow and succeed. It’s moments like these that remind me of how powerful our community is.
