10 Most Delicious Beers In UK & Where To Find Them

I have sampled over 100 beers in UK. That may seem like a small number, but I just moved here 4 months back  I couldn’t tell you which one of the beers I’ve tried is the best but here are my top picks & where to find them (or rather where I had them!)

  1. Maltsmiths IPA: It has caramel base with overlying hop notes of citrus, grapefruit, tropical fruits and a little pine for freshness. This was at the Casino when I won £40 in roulette. I ended up spending all of that at the bar.

  1. White Horse Bitter - Made with locally grown Challenger Hops with Yorkshire’s malt, it’s so tasty you can’t help but order another one! This was at the legendary White Horse Brewery - historical pub where famous writers met and read out their stories. They have good local ales and friendly staff.

  1. Lagunitas IPA - An intense hop juiciness, with white wine, gooseberry, lemon grass, pineapple, melon. Finish is balanced, with a slight lingering bitterness. This was recommended by a colleague who is from pub industry. Clearly, I am in good company.

4. Island Records Session IPA - This one bursts with juicy hop aromas and flavours of citrus and tropical fruits. You know the-beer-before-the-vacation-starts? This was at Luton airport. Tiny can but great taste!

5. Hacker-Pschorr Weissbier - Aroma of caramel, banana, yeast, citrus, wheat and light herb. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. This was at Drygate Brewery in Glasgow. I am not kidding when I say you can spend an entire weekend trying their collection of beers. And oh, you can even take a tour of the brewery that’s right next to this place.

  1. Silver Dollar Tyne Bank - The amber coloured American Pale Ale is highly acidic (which is enjoyable!) and bold citrus flavour. It is bitter but not too overpowering. This was offered by my agency folks in London. The perks of being a client. Just saying.

7. Erdinger Weissbier - Clear golden pour with mega fluffy head. Tones of bread, banana and malts. I bought this from Sainsburys next door. It went so well with the spicy Indian chicken curry I cooked that night.

8. Greene King Yardbird Pale Ale - Full of hops with a lasting fruity flavour. Masses of hop. Tastes like tropical fruit, mango and floral notes with some spicy character. When in Belfast, you must visit Dirty Onion and Yardstick and have their ale with chicken and corn. Period.

9. Mikkeller I Don’t Have a Red Shrimp - Looks hazy & has a touch pale orange color, yeasty, light malty aroma with a whiff of citrus, little spice and a lingering light honey presence. What a surprise! Deliciousness packed in a can! I picked it from the local Marks and Spencer. It’s a bit expensive but so good.

  1. Pravha Lager - You must have heard of this Czech pilsner which is unexpectedly crisp, light and refreshing. I like how refreshing it is on a sunny day so it made it to my list! I got it from the winter market next to the London Eye. It’s one of my favourite clicks!

That said, best beer in the world is:

…the one that tastes delicious even if it’s bitter

…the one you can order on a date

…the one you drink to celebrate when you get a promotion

….the first beer you brew yourself and is good enough to drink without falling sick

…. the one that let’s you spend a little more time with the person you’re chatting with

….the one that’s free

…. The one you have on your vacation

….the one that quenches your thirst

…the one in your hand

…the next one

Cheers!

Thanks @SebaasC ! Do let me know which ones to try when in Argentina

Yes, of course @Kanchan_Lad. We have many national options, some very good and others not so good.

Here you can taste any international beer too, but I don’t put them on the ranking.

Nowadays, craft beers have increased the number of followers throughout the country.

This is my personal ranking based on my taste:

  1. Cerveza Imperial Rubia

  1. Patagonia ( It began like a craft beer and now is an industrial one)

  1. Quilmes 1890 Rubia

  1. Schneider Rubia

  1. Cordoba Rubia

  1. Isenbeck Rubia.

I hope you like the options! Regards!!

Thanks Sebass! Planning to try them all!
