Things I’ve learned after 1 day in Scotland:
- The road trip from Zürich to Edinburgh takes 18 hours (but only if you can make 1500+ Km in one go)
- My previous experiences with Scottish food were not lucky exceptions - all these lobsters-oysters-shrimps-salmons ARE really excellent!
- It is common to spit on the Heart of Midlothian stone in Edinburgh (not to be mistaken for a famous song by Marillion). Some believe that it helps to keep away evil spirits. And some just find it funny - exactly like I did.
- Scottish cow is called “coo”, and unicorn - aon-adharcach - is the country’s national animal (sadly I didn’t see any!)
- If you buy a modern house from the developer, no car - except Mini-types - will fit into the garage. Therefore locals leave their vehicles outside and convert garages into rooms (facepalm!)
- Scotland is an eternal fun (and who would doubt it!)
And I want to come back later in 2020.
