Devi Dimitra Maksum dubbed herself the "Mom Local Guide" because of her love of caring for others. She says she became a Local Guide "by accident," but she quickly found that she belongs here in the Local Guides family. From her passion for promoting education for solo travelers to hosting charitable meet-ups in her hometown of Jakarta, she has lived up to her title and taken care of her community in numerous ways.

"At first, I thought Local Guides were tour guides," she said. "Then I learned Local Guides are more than that. At that time, I was alone. No one recruited me, no one taught me, so I looked for the community and found Jakarta Local Guides and Indonesia Local Guides through localguidesconnect.com. Then, I knew I was not alone."

In 2020, Devi has focused her contributions on providing helpful information like highlighting sanitizing stations on Google Maps. Her recent photos showcasing the COVID-19 precautions businesses have put in place not only help others plan where to go, but also how they can stay as safe as possible.

Through everything that has happened this year, Devi has remained positive. "My life has been colorful this year because of [the] Local Guides community," Devi told us. "Local Guides is one big family. I am what the community [made] me. Thank you for having me, friends."
