I want to travel rural Finland because of the topography of the land, love it. Any advise?

This come way after you have asked about it, but perhaps this helps someone else if not you. Problem traveling in rural areas is lack of public transportation. You can bus or train to more or less every town, but only to "city". Outside town center there is normally only school bus, which you can of course use but direction is normally wrong. In the morning to town and on the afternoon back to rural area. On summer there is quite a lot of people traveling by bike, but on the wintertime it's smart to hire a car. Finland is full of cottages. You can find a cottage to hire in almost every place. You just need internet for it. Everything is in the net. There is no local offices anymore.
