Need info about Lapland Finland?

If you need info about Lapland Finland, don't hesitate to ask. I'm living at Äkäslompolo. It's located at Western Finnish Lapland near Swedish border about 150 north from Polar Circle. I work as a nature and travel photographer. Here is some photos and more you find from https://plus.google.com/collection/cXRnVB

Re: Need info about Lapland Finland?

Hi  @MarkusKiili and welcome here in Connect. The photos look amazing, but as a reminder, Connect is a a forum to discuss and exchange with other Google Maps users who have joined the program of Local Guides. Everyone is welcome here but the forum is not a platform for commercial advertising or self-promotion of any kind.  Please remove the website reference from the photos and remember also to give credits to the author, if not yourself:). Take a moment to revise our Local Guides Program Rules and copyright procedures

As it looks you are new in the forum, here some tips to get started. For example, this section of the site has many good advice on how to use the community and interact with your fellow Local Guides.

Tips for getting started:

Search the community before posting as others may have asked your question (and received an answer) already.

- Use a descriptive title for your post to make it easier for people to know whether they should open it.

- Share a story with your photo(s) - tell your fellow Local Guides something about the location's history, why you like it,  a few details on what is in the pictures, etc. -

- Use the Location field to geotag your post to a specific place, but make sure its important to the content of the post.

- Don't share personal information on the forums, check out the private messaging option instead.

This area has helpful information about the Local Guides program in case you have more questions.

Don't forget to introduce yourself to the other Local Guides on our March 2017 introduction thread, too, if still you haven't done it yet, and feel free to ask if you need any further help or tips.

Many thanks and have fun with Local Guides!

Re: Need info about Lapland Finland?

 Thanks @MariaBi
My intense was not promote anything, just say that if someone is interested about this neighborhood, I can give some hints.  But I'm learning the way of this forum. I removed photos with my webpage address as watermark. Didn't thought that it would be promoting. For me it have been more like info for those who want to take contact and watermarks just were there, because I hae used those in places where author is not seen.

I never use others photos without credit, but I'm glad that you mentioned about it. Just today I have found about 20 my photos from Google Maps added by someone else with no credits.

Re: Need info about Lapland Finland?

Hi @MarkusKiili,

Thanks a lot for confirming the photos are yours and removing the website as a watermark. We love to have such a skilled photographer aboard. Your photos are truly amazing and our community hosts many photographers, both amateur and professionals. On the "Photography" board you can share all your knowledge, ask other Local Guides for advice or learn and share your tips to get the best picture.

  • To add watermarks properly and other great tips on photos, please read this article

Please, if you find a review or photo that you think violates our policies, you can use the 'flag/report as inappropriate' icon next to the contribution. A team of specialists will then check if it violates any of our policies (https://goo.gl/dsVNTC & https://goo.gl/G87xzJ) and will take appropriate action. The content review sometimes takes time as the team is careful to only remove content that violates policy. Please note that we'll never be able to share the specialists' decision as we respect everyone's privacy.

Here the steps to report an image directly in Google Maps:

  1. Log in with your account and choose the photo;
  2. On Google Maps, click on the menu at upper left corner of the screen;
  3. Click on the "Report a problem" link;
