Hi everybody. Egypt is very large and interesting country. Last time I was there was February 2018. I travelled Sharm-El-Sheikh with my two sons, who have had their winter holidays.
The country is very specific and one must get use to it. They dont know what real winter, like we have in Ukraine, is. So, all the people are very warm and friendly.
The country is known for its historical sites: Pyramids, Sphinx in Giza, great Pyramids, great Sphinx and Egyptian Museum in Cairo, City of dead in Luxor, local sites in resort cities, like Hurgada and Sharm-El-Sheikh.
We were able to visit Cairo’s Pyramids, Great Sphinx and Egiptian Historical Museum in Cairo. Such a wonderful places. Historical Museum is something, that thakes you back southand years, and paints before you a colorful picture of historical events, you read in your history books in school.
We also like Sharm-El-Sheikh, where we were able to visit great mosque and Coptic Orthodox church.
People were very friendly - food in restaurants was delicious. If you never been to Egypt - you have to make a trip.
From downsides: die to the warm weather, lack of rains and absence of cleaners the city of Cairo is very dirty; piles of garbages are sitting in the very down-town if the city. Citizens seems to not bothering very much about this fact. Another thing: since it is the Eastern country, when you go to market or store, you are expected to bargain. If you dont - prices are VERY high. There is no price tags on the product in stores - seems like seller makes prices up, by looking at you on the check out. Tipping: this country expect you to tip - if you are from Europe, you’ll hate it.
