How bad has uber screwed you up compared to the local taxis in your town?

I have routinely got screwed over by the drivers for uber and lyft, so bad that I have decided to go back to riding in taxis. I have my 3 or 4 favorite local cabs on Long Island (where im from) but is there anyone decent in houston tx. Can anyone in Houston reccommend me a service that is not uber or lyft. im done riding with shady charachters only to get gouged when i actually need to ride somewhere. Im looking into companies like Bethpage Taxi on Long Island, Merrick Taxi on Long Island and All County Taxi in Lindenhurst. any feedback for decent local services like this would be greatly appreciated.
