Hello Local Guides:
It's a pleasure show something from the area where I live.
The ports of Tortosa-Beceite are a mountain massif located halfway between the provinces of Tarragona (Catalonia), Teruel (Aragon) and Castellón (Valencian Community), which is the meeting point of the Catalan Pre-coastal Range with the Iberian System.
It is a vast mountainous area that covers more than eight hundred square kilometers. The relief is calcareous, extremely complex with multiple mountain ranges, peaks, cliffs, deep valleys and rock formations.
From the geological point of view, this massif constitutes a transition region between the Coastal-Catalan Range and the Iberian System, as well as a climatic transition between the Mediterranean climate of the coast and the continental Mediterranean and the characteristics of the mountain climate. All this guarantees a unique and diverse vegetation.
The ports of Tortosa-Beceite present a very varied flora thanks to its complicated orography, the proximity of the Mediterranean and the diversity of its ecosystems.
In the rivers of the numerous rivers that exist in the area grow poplars, willows, ash or poplar trees although the predominant tree in the area is pine. Several species are distinguished: Aleppo, black or wild pines.
Other species of trees in the area are yew trees, oaks, holm oaks, beech trees, maples, rowan trees or holly trees. There are also a large number of shrubs in the area, from junipers, boxwood, juniper, hazel, heather or black hawthorn, which forms between rocks
Hope you enjoy it!! #LetsGuide

Thank you so much for your kind and nice comment. In Spain we have a lot of pines: "Mediterran Pines". They are really beautiful.
Have a nice week ahead.
Sincerely
Esther
