As said here: Known issue: "Available for hire" option on SV app , this issue is now solved for a lot of users.

Yes, after notifying them of the issue via this discussion on May 4 and their acknowledgement on May 14, I received the badge notification May 25. I was listed in their street view hire directory June 5. Thanks @LuciaC
