I bought myself an LG 360 CAM recently, hoping to contribute in mapping and documenting my area.
I am close to regret my purchase...
First thing, my area is saturated with StreetView pictures. There is almost no chance of doing a picture that has not been done, either by Google themselves or an amateur. I gather Google wants original and meaningful images.
On another matter, although quality is rather good with a 360° cam. It deeply disturb me to see myself in the picture, horlding up at arm length the camera. Not very aesthetic.
(picture below as an example. I'm not the one on the picture but as the person is unidentifiable, I publish it here)
so, with that being said, can someone restore my faith in doing spherical pictures...

If you don't want to exposed yourself in the 360° photos, you can get a stand or a tripod, distance yourself from your 360° camera and remotely control it from your phone. Here's the example:
Using tripod
Using stand
You can also blur yourself on Street View app before publish it.
I bought mine at this year March and now it collecting dust since my last uses, which is 3 months ago.
Hope this helps!

Hi @PierJes,
@roxaschoo is right. You can use a tripod for more professional results. But even a monopod (or a selfie stick) can result in better images when you are on the go and do not want to carry a heavy equipment. This example (and the whole virtual tour you can make) was made by using a monopod way above my head while I was ducking. Now of course I am still in the nadir of the picture but cover much smaller area of the photo sphere and unless someone deliberately looks down, cannot see me.

Edit: Here I used the same monopod but stuck its end into my back pack and could easily lean it against the hand rail of the lookout tower. So while there is something apparently visible at the nadir, it is not distracting at all.
