Inaccurate GPS location

Few weeks before, when I was in village, the location shown by my Google Maps was about 1mile away than my actual place. 

Location service was fully on, internet connectivity was nice but still. During my stay for about 2 weeks it always showed about 1mile away from actual location even if I move to other place. But now, I am in city, it works fine.

Why is this? May be because of less GPS signals in village of Nepal?

GPS signals come from satellites and are only blocked by things overhead such as trees or buildings.

Were you near the Chinese border?

No, very far from Chinese border.

I know they come from satellite signals and I tried when I was in open land too! 

One interesting part is

Google maps showed my location to be in a hotel.

Google maps always kept giving me notification to add photos of that hotel and timeline as "you were in ... Add to your timeline" or whenever I captured a new photo:"add this photo to ,

.." but at this time I was a mile away in my home.
