In spite of the heavy rainfall that greeted almost every part of Lagos in Nigeria on Saturday, 3 June 2017, several Lagos Local Guides including me, @EmekaUlor, @pwanaduku @Sagir, @AustinCO,
@Sayo, @BukolaAjayi, and others defied the downpour and stomped Lufasi Nature Park. This meet-up titled "Lagos With Nature", is a geo-walk aimed at joining the global community to celebrate the World Environment Day. On our arrival at LUFASI, we just couldn't wait clicking our cams to capture the nature’s hidden wonders that's nicely tucked in in one of Lagos forest reserve. ABOUT LUFASI PARK
Lekki Urban Forest and Animal Sanctuary Initiative (LUFASI), is an urban forest park that sits on 25 hectares of land on the Lekki - Epe express way. This area was a little patch of pristine coastal rain forest that had been protected since the Lekki Peninsula development started 25 years ago. It still contains some last remaining stands of the highly endangered Ekki “Iron wood” tree and the threatened hooded vulture and great horn-bill. LUFASI is home to the great nature park (LUFASI), a relaxation centre for adults with a fully equipped play park and football pitches for youngsters and a state of the art veterinary hospital and animal sanctuary. LUFASI an NGO, is working with Lagos state to create this unique Eco-friendly recreation centre, just minutes east from the second toll gate on the Lekki-expressway.
