It’s cricket season in India—with three more thrilling weeks of T20 to go—which makes it a good time to support your favorite local cricket haunts by sharing your knowledge about them on Google Maps. Beyond thoughtful reviews, clear photos, and keeping places up-to-date with everything from cocktail recommendations to parking and website info, you can also save your favorites to a list.

Here’s one from me, Ara. By day, I may be a Local Guides community manager based in Singapore, but on my off hours 🙂 I’ve been following all the matches in my hometown of Bangalore.

You can create lists with different themes, like Best Cricket Pubs with Local Beer, or Great for Cricket and Finger Food.

Creating and adding places to your list

  1. Open the Google Maps app.
  2. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
  3. At the bottom, tap the place's name or address.
  4. Tap Save.
  5. Choose a list. To create a new list, tap New list  '+'

Follow a list

If you follow a list made by someone else, their saved places will show up in Your Places. The places will also appear as suggested locations in Google Maps.

Follow a list using a link

  1. Tap on the link you received to open it.
  2. Tap Follow. This list will now be added to the group of lists you follow.

Don’t forget to make your list public before sharing, make sure to comments below to compare list with others. Share them out on your favorite social channels using #LocalGuides.
