One of the key elements for your Connect Live 2020 application is a quality Google Maps list. Now that you know how to create a list, we want to share some of our favorite lists created by Connect Live 2019 attendees for inspiration.

Accessible Playgrounds and Attractions by @JordanSB

We selected Jordan’s list as one of our favorites because this truly provides helpful information about an important topic. He features 10 places, a great number to aim for as the Google Maps team recommends between five and 15 places on each list. Jordan also gives personalized information and recommendations within this list, a key sign of a good list on Google Maps.

#WomanLed Bozeman by @Kwiksatik

Some of the best lists we’ve seen are created by Local Guides who create lists based on topics they are passionate about. Megan’s #WomanLed Bozeman list details 12 places in her hometown that are woman-owned. She also provides thoughtful information from her own experience on each, and includes a call-to-action for those who might want to be added to her list.

Great non-touristy eats in New Orleans by @amars662

We absolutely love the title of Alicia’s list. This instantly indicates to travelers that the items on the list are for true foodies and will not steer them to traditional tourist traps. This title is not only fun and creative, but it describes exactly what you’ll find in the list once you click.

Restaurants for broken hearts in Istanbul by @myparmaksiz

While this is another great title like the one Alicia created, we truly love the theme of this list. Yalcin thought outside the box to create a list of restaurants to eat after a breakup in Instanbul. This is not only a very unique spin on a “best restaurants” list, but it’s something that could bring some unexpected joy to someone’s day.

He's Vegan, She's Not: Dubai by @KBerteaux

Similar to Jordan’s helpful list of accessible playgrounds, Kelsey provides helpful information for those who live a vegan lifestyle. Finding places that meet dietary restrictions while traveling can be difficult, but lists like this one that are location-based and diet-specific can truly help others find the best places to go on Google Maps.

All of these lists fall within the recommended five to 15 places, include a descriptive title, feature personal anecdotes and recommendations under each place, and ultimately, provide a service to help others find the best places to go. For additional guidelines on creating awesome lists like these, visit this post and the Help Center. We look forward to seeing what you come up with for your Connect Live application!
