Throwback - 1st ever Google Map Maker conference! 2009 - Bangalore, India

Map Maker User Conference 2009 was a community event that was attended by the Google Maps leadership, Map Maker development team and fellow map makers from around the world. This conference gave us an unique opportunity to meet and discuss various topics related to Maps and Map Maker.

The agenda and schedule of the conference was:

• town-hall discussion on ideas and features - including ones proposed by the community
• an update on upcoming Map Maker features
• a talk by Google's Director of Engineering for Maps on the past, present and future for Google Maps.
• country-specific sessions on challenges and issues
• meet with Google India leadership to understand various India-centric efforts

Other activities that were planned around the conference was a special dinner in the city and a sight-seeing tour. There were also several fun events for everyone to get to know each other better.
