I live in the small town of Berdyansk in the south of Ukraine. The ability to contribute to Google led me to the fifth level of local experts. In addition, I participate in the program "The Street view Trusted" and I am engaged in the integration of public transport "Google Transit" on Google Maps.
The biggest problem for countries in which the cartographic service is not yet very developed is the closure of the Map Maker program. If for the US and European countries the maps have already been drawn almost completely, then for the rest of the world, the disabling of the Mapmaker service has discarded the development of maps for many years. Now it is very difficult to wait for any changes. They say that everyone wants to shift to the neural network, let's hope that they manage well and quickly.
