Celebration is continued for this new point system and levels.images.png

We are further expecting 360 Photos be listed as separate Contribution type with significant point.

Re: Points for 360 Photos

Nice, I need an excuse to buy a 360 camera! Nearly bought one over Christmas, now I can tell myself I need to make it to level 9! 🙂

Re: Points for 360 Photos

Do we earn points on our 360 photos uploaded via SV app though? My photos are "maps approved" but recently points aren't going up, even though I waited over 24 hours.

I really wish there'd be a profile section in our contributions page with each of our photos (360 or regular) stated as approved or rejected or earning points.

@SamuelEdyson
According to current score system , we get 5 Points either this is regular photo or 360 photo from SV app as well.
Is there increase in your points now?

Re: Points for 360 Photos

Yes it's increasing already. My concern now is on non-360 photo uploads. It doesn't seem like points will increase more if we already uploaded more than certain amount of photos to a listing. Take each 360 shots and crop using Theta+, we can get:
- tiny planet shot
- tiny cave shot (if ceilings are interesting enough)
- per wall / corner shots

Looking at that, we can easily crop 3-5 pics out of every 360 panoramas. So take a hotel that has more than fifty of 360 panoramas, we could easily upload 50 x 3-5 = 150 - 250 photos to a hotel listing. Note that hotels love if we upload lots of pictures in their listing, so it shouldn't be acknowledged as spamming photos, logically speaking. I could be wrong.

What happens now is that once you reached certain amount of photos, no new points will be awarded to us anymore. So my statistic now is that out of 861 photos uploaded, only 741 is counted in for points (that number is for all listings i photographed, not just one).

I know that local guides shouldn't be about who's the fastest to reach level 10, but can people help shed some light here please?
