Hello Everyone
I am Hussaini Kwaifa, a fellow Local Guide from Abuja, Nigeria. I'm 35 years old, I am a Football lover and traveler. I am a Web Designer and SEO Manager, I help business owners grow their business in Nigeria. I have BBA in Accounting from the Islamic University of Ghana.
I am a technology enthusiast and I use Google Maps very frequently to navigate my way to new and old places. I'm famous among my friends for using Google Maps everytime we hang out and go on long drives. My journey as a local guides started when I first registered a new restaurant on Google Maps. I had no idea how to do it, I just experimented and voila I got the notification that my edit is live. At that moment in time, I was so happy that I now have the skill to map new places.
I now love adding businesses and schools on Google Maps and also notified the business owners to keep on the lookout for Google Postcard so that they can be officially verified by Google. I had no idea about points at that time even but then I discovered that reviews and adding photos/videos can increase your points and help the businesses with the traffic. I started
sharing my reviews of places (mostly Schools and restaurants with amazing quality pictures taken by my smartphone).
I also edited the wrong information like addresses, phone numbers and even reported the closed businesses so that Its easy for other Google Map users to identify the closed places. I also discovered how one can give suggestions that whether the place is pet friendly or wheelchair accessible. I also started taking photos and noting down such places which were specially designed for disabled people. I loved the overall idea of Google Local Guides Program. I discussed the various opportunities with fellow local guides from other cities too.
Meet Ups Organised & Attended
Hosted a Meet of Abuja Local Guides (Oct, 2017) and participated in a Photo Meet at Abuja on April 22, 2018 (11 am to 1 PM). The Meet that I organised was participated by Abuja Local Guide.
Right now I feel like it's my duty to add more and more places on Google Maps and review the existing places
I love it when I get the stats update from Google.
