Uganda is such a good country to tour. Mbale District in the far Eastern part of the country is one of my favorite destinations. Despite Mbale being one of the cleanest urban centers in the Country, the place is friendly and the meals in the place are awesome. Apart from readily made muchomo, chicken is very cheap and readily available in almost all hotels and restaurants.
I am one guy interested in eating birds a lot and the last time I was in Mbale area, I enjoyed it all the way from Mbale to the nearby Sironko highlands.
But muchomo and chicken is not the only favorite meals out there, in this Bamasaaba region, the cultural diet of "Malewa" is also very delicious and tasty. This is a product of bamboo shoots mixed in G/nuts and I promise you once you get it prepared with rice and matooke you just feel at home.
